This on-campus ASUI event is intended to provide information for University of Idaho students about the effects of alcohol on sexual violence. The “party” will have 2 parts. First, the party will provide speakers and information about sexual violence, both prevention and treatment options. Second, the event will model a fun alcohol-free environment with carnival like feel and interactive booths. It is a proven fact that alcohol plays a role in majority of the sexual violence incidents to U of I students. With this idea in mind, the party will also focus on responsible drinking, if one chooses to drink in the various party scenes around campus. The booths provided would promote alternative activities students can participate in, instead of drinking, such as extra-curricular activities sponsored by the University and surrounding communities. The purpose of this even is to remind students that there are many ways to have fun and be safe in college.
