| Days of Service
Launched in 2000, the Center’s Days of Service provide an opportunity for UI students to work together for the good of the Moscow community. Twice a year, students spend a Saturday morning volunteering at project sites throughout the area, engaging in activities from painting and landscaping to working with children and the elderly.
Make A Difference Day, our fall event, is a nationwide day of service sponsored by the Points of Light Foundation and USA Weekend Magazine. Held on the fourth Saturday of October, Make A Difference Day started at UI in 2001 and attracted more than 250 volunteers working at 24 sites in 2006. Saturday of Service, our spring event, was started at the University of Idaho in 2000. Like Make A Difference Day, Saturday of Service draws students from across campus. The 2008 Saturday of Service hopes to see 300 volunteers come out for a fantastic event at more than 25 sites in the Moscow and Pullman area.
Saturday of Service is scheduled for Saturday, April 12th. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come out for the event, but we ask that volunteers please sign up for the event prior, as a headcount is needed for T-shirts and meals. Everyone is entitled to a free breakfast and discounted lunch, and the first 300 volunteers get a free T-shirt, so be sure to sign-up now!
