The Organization Service Award
The Program of Excellence Award
Eligibility:
The quality of student life at the University of Idaho is greaty enhanced
by the cocurricular opportunitites student organizations provide
each year. From cultural and spiritual events, to educational, social,
or civic engagement initiatives, student-organized programs make
an impact on the UI community in a variety of ways. In an effort
to recognize and reward those student organizations that provide
quality programs/events to the campus community, the ASUI Activities
Board and the Student Activities & Leadership Programs Office
established the Program of Excellence Award. Awarded annualy to
two student organizations registered with the ASUI, this cash award
will be used by the recipients to further enhance student-programming
efforts on the UI campus. Programs/Events of all sizes and budget,
held within the current academic year, are eligible and encourged
to apply.
This award is meant to acknowledge the programming efforts of student organizations
beyond events that local chapters of national organizations may be
required to complete.
Selection Criteria:
Two student organizations registered with the ASUI will each receive a $250 cash award and plaque.
Nominations will be acceptd by faculty, staff, students, or organization members. Please address the
following in the application letter:
- Description of the program/event, date(s) held, location, and number of attendees
- The organization's goal(s) for the program
- The organization's mission/purpose statement
- The impact of the program on the campus community
Please attach up to two additional pages of pertinent background materials--newspaper
articles, letters, citations, project descriptions, etc. Supporting materials
may be included in addition to the two-page application limit. Creativity, innovation,
and originality in program idea and/or marketing/publicity strategies will also
be taken into consideration.

The Organization Service Award
Eligibility:
This award is presented to an organization which has demonstrated exceptional motivation,
innovation, and involvement in community service. This organization is one which has
provided outstanding service to the community without regard for group gain, while
exhibiting commitment to the causes, concerns, events or needs at hand. This award
is presented to an organization in hopes that the organization's exceptional service
may inspire and motivate others to participate in community service. The service
must be performed without pay and have taken place in the Moscow/Pullman area.
Selection Criteria:
Nominations will be accepted from faculty, staff, students or members of the
organizations. Please address the following in the application letter:
- The events or circumstances that motivated the organization to take service action
- The steps the organization took to institute change through service
- The organization's commitment to the community and service to others
- The impact of the organization's volunteer service action on the community
This award was created to acknowledge service above and beyond philanthropic
events that local chapters of national organizations may be required to complete.
